About the Conference

In 2026 the traditional International Scientific Conference “Lomonosov” of student, graduate student, and young scientist will be held from April 10 to April 25 at Lomonosov Moscow State University. The International Scientific Conference "Lomonosov" is organized within the framework of the International Scientific Youth Forum "Lomonosov". The Organising Committee of the Lomonosov Forum is chaired by the Rector of Moscow State University, Academic Victor Antonovich Sadovnichy.

The main purpose of the conference is to encourage the creativity of student, graduate student, and young scientist, to involve them in addressing the urgent problems of modern science, to maintain and develop the international scientific and educational space, and establish contacts between the future colleagues.

In 2026, the conference will be organized into 44 sections and over 450 subsections, encompassing all key areas of contemporary fundamental and applied science.

The Conference welcomes students (specialists, bachelors and masters), postgraduate students and young scientists from any country of the world under the age of 35 – including students, postgraduates and staff of universities and academic institutions from Russia and abroad.

The main languages of the Conference are Russian and English.

Those wishing to participate in the Conference should submit their proposal/abstract to the organizing committee STRICTLY through the electronic registration system before 2d of March 2026 (included). Applications are submitted via the scientific and educational portal "Lomonosov" (lomonosov-msu.ru). Abstracts stylesheet can be found here.

Applications received by email are neither considered nor registered.

Expert examination and competitive selection of applications are performed by the expert councils (jury) of the Conference’s sessions headed by the leading scientists of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Russian Academy of Sciences. Selected participants receive the notification of acceptance by the organizing committee based upon the decision of the expert councils no later than two weeks prior to the start of the Conference.

Also within the framework of the Vernadsky scientific and educational consortia uniting Moscow State University, several regional universities, research institutes and socially oriented federal and regional business, regional platforms of the XXXIII International Scientific Conference of Undergraduate and Graduate Students and Young Scientists “Lomonosov” were organized:

The XXXIII International Scientific Conference of Students, Postgraduate Students and Young Scientists “Lomonosov” will be held on the basis of the branches of Moscow State University:

  • Moscow State University branch in Sevastopol;
  • Moscow State University branch in Grozny;
  • Moscow State University branch in Astana;
  • Moscow State University branch in Dushanbe;
  • Branch of Moscow State University in Yerevan;
  • Moscow State University branch in Tashkent;
  • Moscow State University branch in Baku;
  • MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen;
  • An international platform in the city of Ashgabat.

Official languages of the Conference are Russian and English. The Conference welcomes students (specialists, bachelors and masters), postgraduate students and young scientists from any country of the world under the age of 35 – including students, postgraduates and staff of universities and academic institutions from Russia and abroad.

The term young scientists refers to postgraduates, lecturers and assistant professors. The participation of Ph.D. and D. Sc. is regulated according to the distinction traditionally accepted in Russia: Professors and Doctors of Science cannot participate even if they are younger than 36 years old while the participation of the Candidates of Science under the age of 35 is restricted by the decisions of the Organizing Committees of particular undersections.

Students from schools and secondary vocational education institutions can participate within separate subsections, if this is stipulated by the decision of the organizing committee of the relevant section.

If the research presented at the Conference is done in co-authorship, each of the co-authors should meet the standard requirements given above. Co-authorship with an academic supervisor is not allowed but providing special thanks to your academic supervisor as a comment is most welcome. The number of co-authors is determined by the Organizing Committees of each particular session.

Conditions for submitting applications

Limit: 1 participant = 1 application, where does he perform either only by the author, or only by a co-author. At the same time, the participant has the right to submit an application for speaking at regional or international conference venues — applications are submitted separately on the corresponding pages of the sites.

Those wishing to participate in the Conference should submit their proposal/abstract to the organizing committee STRICTLY through the electronic registration system (on the Lomonosov portal: lomonosov-msu.ru) before 2th of March 2026 (included). Rules for submitting abstracts can be found in the section "Abstract formatting rules".

An electronic collection with all the abstracts (with ISBN) is distributed to the participants of the Conference. Besides, the abstracts are posted on the official website of the Conference.

 

The authors of the most outstanding reports are awarded honorary diplomas of the Conference upon the proposal of the expert councils.
